About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established design-build and custom construction organization, is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to join their leadership team. As the financial leader of the organization, you will work closely with the General Manager and cross-functional leaders to support business growth, operational excellence, and financial stability. Your expertise will directly influence budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and overall business performance in a dynamic construction environment.

Your Responsibilities

• You’ll oversee the full accounting function, including financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and compliance activities
• In this role, you’ll provide financial guidance and strategic insights to the General Manager and senior leadership team
• You’ll lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards
• You’ll manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting
• In this role, you’ll support construction operations through accurate job costing and Work in Progress reporting
• You’ll strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes to support operational efficiency and risk management

Skills and Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, including senior-level finance leadership experience
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, CPA designation considered an asset
• Strong understanding of general ledger functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and month-end/year-end close processes
• Experience working within the construction, renovation, or project-based industry preferred
• Advanced proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting tools
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities across all levels of an organization
