The work of the Inspection and Investigation Section (IIS) focuses on providing a regulatory environment that contributes to and enhances the growth of a globally competitive and sustainable agriculture and food industry. The IIS contributes to the security and safety of the animal and food systems by providing effective and efficient inspection, licensing, investigation, audit assurance, and enforcement of 9 Acts and 10 Regulations assigned to the Section as well as related legislation assigned to other branches within Agriculture. The IIS is also mandated to ensure that Alberta remains rat free and oversees the Wild Boar Program.
As an Inspection and Investigation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring legislative compliance under 19 Acts and Regulations impacting Alberta’s agriculture sector. Reporting to the Inspection and Investigation Section Manager, you will conduct inspections and investigations, support regulated agricultural industries, and collaborate with stakeholders to promote compliance and food safety.
