The mandate of the Rail Construction Program is to transform, develop, grow, and sustain Ottawa’s Light Rail Transit Systems as a component of the City of Ottawa’s overall transportation and mobility strategy.
You are responsible for planning and managing the day-to-day delivery, operations and implementation of the Testing and Commissioning Unit’s programs and services.
Programs, services, projects, and activities include:
Testing and Commissioning strategy for Light Rail
Compliance Variation and Validation
Management of internal and external partners (RTM, OTC)
Deficiency management post substantial completion
You are also responsible for managing the unit’s human (including contracted services for SME consultants) and financial resources, and stakeholder and partner relationships.
Completion of a 4-year university degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 8 years of related experience in rail construction engineering, and engineering design on a LRT (Light Rail Transit) system, including a minimum of 5 years in the management of human resources and/or external contract resources, and management of operating capital budgets, preferably in a municipal setting.
