Alberta Infrastructure is responsible for delivering about one quarter of the Alberta government’s Capital Plan, which addresses the provincial infrastructure needs of Alberta’s population that support key social programs and services and economic development.
The Ministry designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that school and hospital infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. Infrastructure also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the effective, efficient, and safe management of an assigned portfolio of government-owned and/or leased facilities. Reliable and responsive facility operations are essential to enabling Alberta Government ministries to deliver programs and services.
Reporting to the Director, the role focuses on strategic planning with day-to-day management of events on the Legislature Grounds and the conference spaces within the Queen Elizabeth II Building and McDougall Centre in Calgary. This role provides leadership to a multidisciplinary team of supervisors, staff, consultants, and contractors delivering comprehensive facilities management services in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, standards, municipal requirements, and building codes.

This position is a temporary, full-time role, with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday (8:15 am – 4:30 pm) though site presence is often required on weekends during the summer.
