Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Transportation Engineer in Training (EIT) to support our growing team in Edmonton, AB. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative setting, is passionate about transportation, and is eager to contribute to the development of essential roadways projects while growing their career.
Your Key Responsibilities
With guidance, perform geometric design and 3D modeling on a variety of urban and rural roadway projects
Support development of design plans and assist with preparation of technical specifications and quantity estimates as required
Assist with the preparation of engineering reports and technical studies, including basic calculations
Coordinate with other disciplines including structural, geotechnical, stormwater and streetlighting to ensure interdisciplinary design integration
Follow applicable standards, quality assurance and quality control procedures during the design process
Work to meet project timelines and budgets
Additional duties may include assisting with project coordination, project pursuits and proposal preparation
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a team environment
Basic understanding of general civil design concepts in relevant areas
Basic understanding of CAD and earthworks modelling software and knowledge of calculations performed by the software or software savvy with aspirations to develop 3D modeling skillset
Knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, Synchro, and/or Infraworks is considered an asset
Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Proficiency with MS Project considered an asset
Strong verbal and written communication skills
High emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy
Team player with a positive attitude
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
Minimum of 1-2 years of Civil engineering experience preferred
Registered as an EIT in the Province of Alberta or ability to obtain within the next 6 months
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
