Agilus is recruiting for a Project Controls Analyst in the oil & gas sector in St. John's, Newfoundland. This position is suitable for early career to developing intermediate professionals and provides the opportunity to build capability and progressively take on increased responsibility within Project Controls. Total rewards: $40.00 - $80.00 hourly 12 months of contract position Position is based in the St. John’s office, 40 hrs/week, Monday to Friday. No option for hybrid or remote work arrangements. A typical day: Responsible to adhere to safety compliance, understand and follow the Standards, Procedures, Templates and Specifications, raise any deviations to the PC Standards & Procedures. Responsible to support Quality Assurance by ensuring process compliance with the PC Standards & Procedures and expected behaviors, support Quality Control by completing the PC deliverables with timeliness and accuracy, to meet expected outcomes. Supporting the management of commitments, actual costs and allocations, calculation of incurred costs and development/maintenance of the incurred cost forecast (ICF),Supporting cost variance, trend analysis and root cause analysis. Supporting the project contingency and escalation management plans, Developing and producing project cost reporting requirements as required,progressive closeout of cost closeout and benchmarking deliverable, Maintaining the project change log. Initiating, coordinating, and managing Project Change Notices, Supporting the Sr. Cost Analyst and/or Scheduler for the preparation of cost & schedule impacts to analyze potential PCNs, Supporting the coordinator or project management designate for change management. Develop an understanding of the project baseline and control budget including scope definition, estimate costs workforce hours, schedule dates and durations and execution strategies to facilitate immediate decisions on project change, Alerting the Project Controls Lead of potential or real deviations from the control budget as early as possible to enable development and implementation of mitigation or recovery measures, Providing supporting backup and explanations for all identified changes. Working closely with all Integrated Team members, being proactive to resolve any identified concerns or issues, Executing the PC Closeout plan, complete and obtain approval for the final Closeout, Supporting our contractors to understand their obligations and how they will share in the success of the project. Elevating issues as they arise. Produce daily project status reports during execution, Collaborating with functional counterparts like PC Planning/Scheduling, Estimating, Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, Finance, and Project Governance, Supporting Project teams with ad-hoc requests, covering for absences if required. Successful candidates will have: 2-6 years of experience in Project Controls, cost management, or finance. Post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent, Previous Oil & Gas experience with an Owner or EPC organization is an asset. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Knowledge of PowerBI is preferred. Apply a working knowledge of key project controls concepts, functions, processes, principles, standards, and policies, Can identify and resolve common problems and identify impacts of actions, risks, and opportunities by displaying analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Can apply skill to a range of tasks, working with supervision in routine, well-defined situations, Good interpersonal, analytical, organizational & communication skills; both written and verbal, and positive teamwork approach with cross-functional partnership and collaboration. Collaborate with others to develop competency, pursue learning opportunities, and share knowledge with others, Working knowledge of project controls and project management practices, including planning and scheduling, change management, field progress systems, and contractor performance management, is an asset. Working knowledge of SAP is an asset.
