Location: Oshawa, ON (On-site, 5 days per week)

About the Opportunity

Our client, a large and complex organization within the public sector, is seeking a detail-driven Financial Analyst to support critical tax and compliance initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of finance, project delivery, and regulatory reporting, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact filings and audit-ready documentation.

You will collaborate closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure financial activities are accurately captured, supported, and aligned with regulatory expectations. Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll review project-level financial activities and extract supporting documentation for regulatory filings
  • You’ll build and maintain detailed working papers that link source data to financial positions and calculations
  • You’ll collaborate with project teams to clarify scope, resolve gaps, and document key assumptions
  • You’ll design and improve workflows to streamline data collection, tracking, and reporting processes
  • You’ll analyze contracts and financial data to develop supportable schedules and allocations
  • You’ll ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain audit-ready documentation under tight timelines


Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, tax, or compliance-focused roles
  • CPA designation (completed or in progress) or equivalent advanced financial training such as MBA or AFOA
  • Strong knowledge of tax accounting principles and regulatory interpretation
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience building reconciliations and financial models
  • Proven ability to manage documentation with accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, and enterprise platforms
