Assisted Living and Social Services provides supports for seniors, families, and communities, and helps Albertans access disability services, financial supports, services for the homeless, Continuing Care and other social-based programs. The Ministry supports Albertans through a person-centered, integrated service delivery model that recognizes the unique circumstances, experiences and strengths of individuals and families.
The program areas the Preventive Community Services (PCS) Division is responsible for include provincial homelessness responses, Family and Community Support Services, and a range of community-based preventive programs.

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for data-driven decision making and improving outcomes for vulnerable populations? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead strategic data initiatives within the Strategic Program Development and Integration (SPDI) unit.
Reporting to the Director, SPDI, this position plays a key leadership role in ensuring the Ministry has access to current, reliable, and meaningful data from PCS-funded programs to inform policy design and funding decisions.
The role is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of divisional data strategies across a broad range of social programs, including homelessness response services and community-based prevention initiatives. Key features of divisional data strategies include data governance, security and privacy, data infrastructure, data management, and data culture.
You will lead a team of data professionals and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to modernize data systems, translate data from multiple sources into actionable insights, and strengthen data governance, quality, and reporting practices.

University graduation in a field related to the position assignment, supplemented by three years related experience. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.
Assets:
Demonstrated effectiveness in translating data into policy and program guidance is critical
Experience managing complex data initiatives focusing on social issues that impact vulnerable populations
Experience managing data strategies that address data governance, security and privacy, data infrastructure, data management, and data culture
Strong background in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Experience leading system modernization or digital transformation initiatives
Supervisory experience
