The role we offer you: As a Senior Service Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, you will be responsible for driving the execution and evolution of configuration, manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance processes for CAE’s plants located in Saint-Laurent. Your team will consist of the department heads leading manufacturing engineering at CAE. You will have the opportunity to directly influence the future of technical processes within the plant, as well as the profitability of execution. You will report directly to the Director of Quality and Manufacturing Engineering.

Are you ready to take on the following tasks? Supervision: Supervise the achievements, budgets, execution, and improvement strategies of the following teams:

  • Product Configuration

  • CNC Programming

  • Jigs and Tooling

  • Prototyping Center

  • Assembly Methods

  • Equipment and Machine Maintenance

  • Eng Support (ANDON)

Responsibilities:

  • Implement processes such as assembly instructions, “TPM” maintenance plans, new tooling and jigs, etc., to maximize profitability, resilience, and predictability of our operations.

  • Collaborate with production managers, the planning and performance team, mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as the industrialization project office to drive product and process innovation.

  • Create and mentor the product configuration team to enable standardized manufacturing of our varied products, working closely with the product definition team, sales team, and hardware engineering team.

  • Establish a structure for monitoring and controlling the collective and individual objectives of the manufacturing engineering department.

  • Ensure the efficiency, resilience, and flexibility of the manufacturing engineering execution teams.

  • Integrate execution tools with the systems used by the planning and performance team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree

  • Solid team management experience

  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes

  • Excellent communication skills in French and English

  • Strong decision-making leadership

  • Good technical knowledge to challenge existing processes and encourage continuous improvements

  • Experience in industrial and process innovation

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good mastery of continuous improvement concepts

  • Good experience managing execution teams

  • Ability to understand technical details when necessary

  • Good budget and schedule management skills

  • A results-oriented philosophy
