Farm Packaging Supervisor

Osprey Organics is currently hiring Farm Packaging Supervisor (NOC 82030 – Agricultural service contractors and farm supervisors) to support daily operations on our organic farm. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced agricultural environment. Successful candidates will contribute to sustainable farming practices and high-quality organic crop production.

Position Details:

  • Wage: $24.00 per hour
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
  • Schedule: Early morning, morning, day, evening, and weekend shifts as required
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Vacancies: 1
  • Work Location: On site (no remote work option)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of 5–10 farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • Organize and prioritize daily farm tasks to meet production targets
  • Assist in implementing farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • Maintain financial, production, and quality control records
  • Support crop production, including vertical farming systems
  • Sort harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable categories
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • Monitor product quality and check packaging for defects
  • Maintain work records and logs
  • Perform general farm duties as required

Qualifications:

  • 3 to less than 5 years of experience in a similar agricultural role
  • Completion of Secondary School required
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with equipment such as forklifts, loaders, skid steers, farm trucks, and hand tools is an asset

 

Work Environment & Conditions:
This role is based on a rural organic farm and involves exposure to a variety of environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, moisture, odours, and confined spaces. Work is physically demanding and includes repetitive tasks, heavy lifting, bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods in all weather conditions.
