Job Description:

Fanshawe College is seeking experienced and certified Health and Safety Instructors to teach part-time within our Corporate Training Solutions Health and Safety portfolio. Current training areas include:

  • Working at Heights
  • Lift Truck Operator Training
  • Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP)

Instructors are responsible for providing the leadership required to create an effective, engaging, and safe learning environment for adult learners. This includes both classroom-based and hands-on practical instruction aligned with provincial standards and industry best practices

The successful candidate requires:

  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to positive program and community development
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated teaching experience with adult learners and ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Commitment to teamwork and continuous quality improvement
  • Ability to deliver both theoretical and practical (hands-on) training safely and effectively

Specific Qualifications:

  • Current, valid certification(s) in one or more of the following:
    • Working at Heights (approved Ontario provider)
    • Lift Truck Operator Training (Train-the-Trainer or equivalent)
    • Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) Instructor certification
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant industry experience in construction, manufacturing, logistics, or related sectors
  • Previous instructional or facilitation experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of Ontario Health & Safety legislation and standards
  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to training locations as required
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
