Student, Human Resources

Number of positions: 1

Term: May 11th, 2026 to August 28th, 2026

Schedule: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Ottawa, HQ (Hybrid)

Salary range: $18.15 to $30.20/hourly rate dependent on level of education

Language requirement: Bilingual

 

*Eligibility List: CATSA will use this opportunity to establish a list of candidates eligible to fill subsequent vacancies. The eligibility list may be used to staff other student positions with similar responsibilities and qualifications.

 

 

About the job:

 

The Student, Human Resources works with the Human Resources team by providing support with the following projects:

 

·       Provide support in the areas of records management, data entry;

·       General Human Resources administration

·       Collection and analysis of data Supports Human Resources team in the development of special initiatives and projects;

·       Participates in presentation and onboarding with other peers; and

·       Assist in the development and enhancement of Human Resources Programs and tools.

 

 

What you need to succeed:

 

To qualify for the position, you must have:

 

·       Enrolled in a college diploma or a university degree in human resources, industrial relations or business administration with a specialization in human resources;

·       Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;

·       Previous experience in Human Resources would be considered an asset; and

·       Experience using HR recruitment software (e.g. Taleo) would be considered an asset.

 

 

Skills and abilities:

 

·       Strong communication skills both written and verbal;

·       Ability to conduct research, analyze and synthesis confidential information;

·       Ability to prioritize and multi-task;

·       Plan and organize work;

·       Strong client service orientation;

·       Meet tight deadlines in an efficient matter;

·       Tact, diplomacy and discretion.

 

 

To qualify and to be considered for this employment, you must:

 

·       Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;

·       Be eligible to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance;

·       Be a full-time or part-time CEGEP, College or University student; and

·       Be returning to full-time or part-time studies in the next academic year.
