About the Role

In this position, the Security Guard will be responsible for providing front‑line security and customer service in a Parole Office environment. Duties include reception coverage, access control, monitoring security systems, conducting patrols, and supporting Parole Office staff by managing client arrivals and maintaining a safe, professional atmosphere.

What You Bring

  • Valid Alberta Security License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Certification
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Driver’s License, Class 5 and access to a person vehicle
  • Ability to pass Enhanced Reliability Clearance
  • Professional, patient, and respectful customer service skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, access control systems, and fire panel systems

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to conduct walking patrols and climb stairs
  • Ability to remain seated in a stationary post for extended periods
  • Ability to visually monitor cameras and surroundings
  • Ability to respond appropriately to alarms and incidents

Working Conditions

  • Stationed at a desk for a significant portion of the shift
  • Primarily interior patrols with occasional exterior patrols
  • Public-facing environment involving direct interaction with clients
  • Two shifts per week from 16:00-20:00
