About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing organization within the wholesale distribution and consumer goods space, is looking for a Senior Buyer to join their team during an exciting period of expansion and transformation. This is a high-impact role where you will take ownership of key product categories, strengthen supplier partnerships, and help shape the future of procurement within the business.

Working closely with the Director of Purchasing and cross-functional teams, you will play a critical role in building structure, introducing KPIs, and driving more proactive, data-informed decision-making. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in an autonomous environment and is eager to influence how a purchasing function evolves.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll lead end-to-end procurement across assigned product categories, managing a portfolio of vendors
  • You’ll negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to drive margin and business performance
  • You’ll analyze market trends and supplier performance to inform purchasing decisions
  • You’ll establish and track KPIs related to sales, margins, and service levels
  • You’ll collaborate with internal teams across logistics, merchandising, and operations
  • You’ll identify opportunities to improve processes, forecasting, and overall efficiency

Skills and Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive buying experience, including within grocery, CPG, or distribution
  • Strong understanding of product categories, seasonality, and market trends
  • Proven negotiation skills and ability to manage vendor relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make data-driven decisions
  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with Excel and ERP systems
  • A proactive, adaptable mindset with a willingness to challenge the status quo
