⭐ EDUCATION
The minimum standard is:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).
Note:
1. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
o A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Candidates who already meet both of the following criteria must be accepted as meeting the secondary school diploma requirement:
a. Candidates who have achieved a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; and
b. Candidates who have been appointed or deployed for an indeterminate period to a position in the EG classification.
The opportunity to be assessed by at least one of the two employer-approved alternatives must be offered to candidates who have not previously met the secondary school diploma requirement.
Candidates who were appointed or deployed on an indeterminate basis using an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience meet the secondary school requirement for the EG classification only and must be reassessed for entry to other classifications on the basis of this alternative.

⭐EXPERIENCE
Applicable to all instructor positions:
EX1. Experience that clearly demonstrates work accomplishments in coordinating projects (estimating, planning, and implementation) related to instructor position being applied for:
• Electrical Distribution (ED)
• Plumbing & Heating (PH)
• Construction/Carpenter (CONST)
• Drafting and Survey (DS)
• Electrical Generation Systems (EGS)
• Water, Fuels and Environment (WFE)
• Refrigeration and Mechanical (RM)
EX2. Experience using various computer software applications such as word processing, presentations, and spreadsheets.
EX3. Experience contributing to the implementation of interpreted and applied legislation and regulations related to health safety, accident prevention, and the Canada Labour Code in an operational or administrative context.
EX4. Experience presenting capacity and public settings in front of audiences for the purpose of education or content delivery.

⭐Occupational Certification
Applicable if you are applying for:
• Electrical Distribution (ED)
• Construction/Carpenter (CONST)
• Refrigeration and Mechanical (RM)
OC1. Possession of an Inter-Provincial Red Seal Journeyperson Trade Certificate or CCQ Journeyperson Qualification in the province of Quebec in one or more of the following:
• Electrical Distribution (ED)
• Construction/Carpenter (CONST)
• Refrigeration and Mechanical (RM)
OR
Certification at the Canadian Forces DP3A or QL6A level in the following military construction engineer MOSIDs:
• 00302 for Electrical Distribution, OR
• 00306 for Construction/Carpenter, OR
• 00301 for Refrigeration Mechanical.
Applicable if you are applying for:
• Plumbing and Heating (PH)
OC2. Possession of an Inter-Provincial Read Seal Journeyperson Trade Certificate or CCQ Journeyperson Qualification in the province of Quebec in one or more of the following:
• Plumbing Red Seal, or
• Steamfitter/Pipefitter Red Seal.
OR
• Certification at the Canadian Forces DP3A or QL6A level in the following military construction engineer MOSID:
00304 for Plumbing and Heating.
Applicable if you are applying for:
• Drafting and Survey (DS)
OC3. Acceptable combination of training, education, and experience in related fields to the DS position such as:
• Computer assisted drafting and design, plane and geodetic survey i.e. as-built, layout, topographic.
OR
• Certification at the Canadian Forces DP3A or QL6A level in Drafting and/or Surveying fields.
Applicable if you are applying for:
• Electrical Generation Systems (EGS)
OC4. Acceptable combination of training, education, and experience in related fields to the EGS position such as:
• Canadian Council for Technician and Technologist (CCTT) Provincial Certification in a relevant discipline; OR
• Provincial/Territorial Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (NBSCETT) in a relevant discipline; OR
• Combination of both Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Certificate as an Industrial Electrician & Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Certificate as an Industrial Mechanic Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.
OR
• Certification at the Canadian Forces DP3A or QL6A level in the Electrical Generation Systems MOSID 00303.
Applicable if you are applying for:
• Water, Fuels and Environment (WFE)
OC5. Acceptable combination of training, education, and experience in related fields to the WFE position such as:
• Environmental/Chemical Engineer Technology diploma; OR
• Wastewater Collection and/or Water Distribution system experience on a municipal (minimum 5 years’ experience); OR
• Previously held a Wastewater Treatment and/or Water treatment plant certification Level 1 or above.
OR
• Certification at the Canadian Forces DP3A or QL6A level in the Water, Fuels and Environment MOSID 00305.
