Eligibility:

This posting is open to Permanent Teachers and Probationary Teachers currently employed by Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board. This is a one (1) year appointment pending Ministry funding, with the possibility of extension for another (3) three years, subject to continued funding. The teacher will have the right of first refusal the following school year should the appointment be extended.

Salary Range:

Paid based on the salary grid of the Collective Agreement with OECTA according to QECO rating and years of experience.

Qualifications :

  • Certificate of Qualification from the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
  • Intermediate/Senior Qualifications
  • Religious Education, Part 1
  • 5 years of classroom teaching experience, preferred
  • Grade 7 and/or 8 teaching and Transitions experience, Guidance qualification, and/or Student Success and SCWI experience are assets.
Desired Assets:
  • Aspiring Catholic Leadership, Part 1
  • Teaching experience in the Nicholson, St. Paul or St. Theresa families of schools
  • SMHO – Mental Health in Action for Education

  • Complete Faith Reference Portfolio indicating you are a practicing Roman Catholic (current within 1 year)
Notes:

The successful candidate will have current experience in the Nicholson Catholic College, the St. Paul CSS, or the St Theresa CSS families of schools at the intermediate (grade 7-8) or secondary level. They will support the building of Catholic character and culture within school communities through the effective delivery of provincial and board initiatives related to the Student Success strategy. They will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, community partners, college staff and faculty, and school and system leaders. They will demonstrate exceptional ability in planning and organization, data management, project management, and reporting. In fulfilling their responsibilities, they will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Creating Pathways to Success (Policy and Program Requirements, K-12), policy and guidelines for the role of Student Success teachers, and Dual Credit Programs: Policy and Program Requirements. They will demonstrate system-thinking and the ability to collaborate as a team member on the Multi-Year Strategic Plan and the Board Improvement Plan for Student Achievement and Wellbeing. They will demonstrate leadership in the inquiry model for professional development and the integration of technology, including myBlueprint, and they will be committed to their own faith and professional development within a framework of an authentic ministry of service. The successful candidate will work as part of an integrated team supporting the K-12 work of the system and will report to the Superintendent responsible for Student Success.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide their own vehicle to travel to school sites. The successful candidate will work out of the Board Office, Napanee. Travel expenses will be paid according to Article 25 of the current Collective Agreement. Please contact Human Resources for further information.
