About the Opportunity
Our client in the public sector is seeking a Cybersecurity Consultant to play a critical role in strengthening and advancing their security posture. In this role, you will help safeguard systems, data, and people by proactively identifying vulnerabilities and driving meaningful improvements across technology and processes.
You will collaborate closely with IT leadership and cross-functional teams, contributing to initiatives that directly impact organizational resilience and risk management. Your Responsibilities
• You’ll lead vulnerability assessments, identifying risks and implementing mitigation and response strategies
• You’ll provide strategic guidance on cybersecurity policies, protocols, and best practices aligned with industry standards
• In this role, you’ll support and deliver key cybersecurity projects across people, processes, and technology
• You’ll analyze and report on system activity, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements
• You’ll advise leadership on emerging threats, risk management, and technology advancements
• You’ll support audits and investigations by compiling evidence, analyzing logs, and presenting findings when required
Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field, including vulnerability management and policy development
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline
• CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, network security, firewalls, and authentication protocols
• Experience with tools such as Fortinet, Azure, Cisco Meraki, Microsoft Sentinel and Defender, and Tenable
• Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
