Global Wealth & Asset Management (GWAM) is a key growth segment for Manulife, operating through three different channels (Retail, Retirement and Institutional) across North America, Asia and Europe. The business operates externally under the Manulife Investment Management (MIM) brand. As of December 31, 2025, GWAM had a over $1T in Assets Under Management and Administration.

Reporting to the AVP Competitive Intelligence & Insights, the Manager Competitive Intelligence & Insights is a critical partner to help Manulife maintain competitive advantage and drive overall business growth of our MIM business. As part of the GWAM strategy team, the candidate plays a crucial role in building an efficient and embedded global competitive intelligence function to support the development and execution of our strategy.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead GWAM‑wide CI operations and reporting, delivering quarterly and monthly competitive intelligence insights and partnering with the AVP on strategic deep‑dive topics.

  • Own and maintain the GWAM CI pipeline, ensuring coordination across teams, channels, and business units while identifying opportunities for efficiency and reuse.

  • Drive operational excellence by identifying challenges and implementing solutions to improve speed, quality, and scalability of CI delivery.

  • Design and execute CI improvement initiatives, including data consolidation, automation, GenAI use cases, Power BI dashboards, and other productivity‑enhancing tools.

  • Develop and optimize data, systems, and workflows across onshore and offshore teams to enable consistent, high‑impact intelligence output.

  • Manage the central GWAM CI repository, including data sources, subscriptions, key contacts, reporting assets, and dashboards.

  • Define and track key CI operational metrics in partnership with the AVP to assess performance, impact, and continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Build strong cross‑functional partnerships (Strategy, Finance, business leaders, Analytics) to position CI as a trusted input into decision‑making.

  • Enable cross‑pollination of insights across the GWAM strategy and insights teams to amplify the reach and impact of competitive intelligence.

  • Continuously evolve intelligence capabilities by recommending improvements to data sources, data quality, structure, and governance.

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in business, finance, operations management, or related field; experience in competitive intelligence an asset.

  • A track record of driving process improvements and achieving efficiency targets.

  • Knowledge of competitive intelligence best practices, data, and technology and tools (e.g., GenAI, Power BI, etc.).

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and drive initiatives.

  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to synthesize complex information and provide actionable insights.

  • Ability to connect the dots and rapidly identify and surface the relevant patterns and issues.

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and driving to an answer.

  • Result-oriented with an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritize across multiple initiatives, drive accountability, and develop creative solutions where blueprints may not exist.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to articulate complex business issues in simple and impactful words, across diverse audiences.

  • Ability to work independently, get to the relevant information and cut through silos.

  • Team player, collaborative, self-starter, well-organized, innovative, and high-level of initiative.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.

Salary range is expected to be between

$103,270.00 CAD - $153,270.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
