Are you passionate about driving business transformation through technology? We’re seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst to join Retail Investments Technology team at BMO. In this role, you will provide strategic consulting, align technology solutions with business needs, and lead initiatives that shape the future of our enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

As a member of a multi-functional team, you will be primary responsible for business requirements elicitation and management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Elicits requirements and analyzes feasibility to ensure solutions/initiatives achieve the expected business outcomes.
  • Supports various project teams across the project lifecycle to ensure development is aligned with the business requirements.
  • Develops informative, coherent, and usable project documents (project artifacts) for multiple stakeholders covering functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Apply depth of domain & functional expertise for the assigned portfolio to drive the expected business value.
  • Break down strategic problems and analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Understands and follows a project requirements management plan so that activities and milestones of the project team can be measured against the goals of the plan.
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.
  • Build tests cases in order to validate business requirements and End-User Testing results.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • Required: 5+ years of business analysis IT experience in financial industry, preferably within capital markets, wealth management, asset management or investment operations.
  • Required: Post-secondary degree in business, finance, and/or computer science.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Knowledge of business analysis, project delivery practices and standards across the project lifecycle. Business analysis accreditation is an asset.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insight to help drive business decisions.
  • Data driven decision making.
  • Highly effective communicator. Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Collaboration & teamwork skills with a focus on cross-group collaboration.

  • Ownership mindset, strong analytical capabilities and a passion for problem-solving and adapting to change. 
  • Displays acumen with technical concepts and business/industry knowledge with a strong desire for continuous learning.
  • Can-do attitude. Persists in driving towards the end goal by self and leading the team.
  • Awareness of critical path amidst changing priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage ambiguity and tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers.
  • Ability to assimilate lots of detailed information effectively.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills.

Hybrid work arrangement: The candidate is expected to work on-site at our downtown Toronto, ON location.

Salary:
$61,600.00 - $113,900.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
