Position Overview

Calian is seeking a Contract Manager to join our Health Services team. This is a 12-month maternity leave replacement. This client-facing role is responsible for overseeing healthcare contracts of varying size and complexity, ensuring strong workforce and client satisfaction, financial performance, and operational excellence.

Based in Ottawa in a hybrid work environment, you will manage budgets, schedules, and human resources while building and maintaining strong client relationships. You will also play a key role in supporting contract growth, improving processes, and ensuring timely, high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

Contract Management & Delivery

  • Ensure contracts meet workforce satisfaction, client satisfaction, compliance, and financial performance targets
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and addressing issues proactively
  • Track progress, quality, and performance of work at client sites
  • Manage budgets, cash flow, schedules, resources, invoicing, and approval of timesheets
  • Support contract renewal, retention, and growth opportunities
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly billing and contract reporting
  • Monitor key performance indicators and communicate contract status to leadership

Proposal & Business Support

  • Support proposal reviews, pricing meetings, and responses to client Requests for Proposals
  • Identify opportunities to expand contract scope or increase revenue, collaborating with Sales as needed

Process Improvement & Team Contribution

  • Contribute to forecasts, annual budgets, and team initiatives
  • Identify and implement improvements in contract delivery processes and internal procedures
  • Collaborate with internal teams and Divisional Services (HR, Payroll, Finance) to support effective information flow

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in healthcare, business, or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in contract administration, project management, or a healthcare environment
  • Strong financial acumen and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Project
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Results-driven with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Strong sense of urgency with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
  • High level of discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive matters
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate issues and develop effective solutions

Compensation

$80,000 – $90,000
