Lockout/Tagout Specialist

As a Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Specialist you are responsible for implementing, controlling, and enforcing LOTO processes on all shipboard systems to ensure worker safety. Working in close collaboration with the LOTO officer, the incumbent will develop LOTO plans for specific tasks required by the work packages. The incumbent will be an integral part of the LOTO team and will work with planners to verify and validate LOTO requirements within production work packages. More specifically, you will:

•    Ensure all departmental processes are followed.
•    Follow all health, safety, and environment (HSE) mandates, specifically those related to LOTO.
•    Review and support vessel-specific documentation, ensuring content accuracy and compliance prior to issuing LOTO plans.
•    Support the M-Files workflow related to LOTO requirements within work packages.
•    Work with the electrical and mechanical specialists from the commissioning team when technical references are required.
•    Work closely with the client to ensure LOTO handovers are adequate and well documented.
•    Organize and coordinate any last-minute LOTO requests from the production team.
•    Provide coverage for other LOTO team responsibilities during absences or vacation, as required.
•    Actively participate in project-specific LOTO meetings and ensure the status is properly tracked with the HSE team.
•    Continually promote HSE awareness by leading by example and ensuring the safe performance of all employees involved in your daily operations.
•    Resolve any HSE issues brought to their attention in a timely manner and notify the HSE team immediately.
•    Ensure the security of project facilities and equipment.
•    Ensure full compliance with Davie’s environmental policies.

REQUIREMENTS

•    DVS or DCS in a relevant mechanical or electrical field.
•    Strong system knowledge and understanding of drawing system.
•    Sea service, an asset.
•    Québec Certificate of Competence in Electricity (Licence C) required for an electrician-related position.
•    Good working knowledge of marine vessel systems.
•    Strong communication and teamwork skills.
•    Proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken. Fluency in English is required for this position, as the incumbent will interact with our English-speaking suppliers, stakeholders, and clients.
•    Successful completion of the investigation and security clearance process required by the federal government’s Contract Security Program.
