As a Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Team Lead you are responsible for implementing, controlling, and enforcing LOTO processes on all shipboard systems to ensure worker safety across all projects involving LOTO activities. Working in close collaboration with the Project Management Office (PMO) of the specific projects, the incumbent will plan a LOTO strategy integrating the LOTO process into work packages and ensure proven methods of LOTO documentation throughout the project. The incumbent is also responsible for leading the LOTO team and ensuring all team activities are fully aligned with the established health and safety LOTO procedures. More specifically, you will:

 
•    Ensure all departmental processes are followed.
•    Follow all health, safety, and environment (HSE) mandates, specifically those related to LOTO.
•    Align the LOTO strategy to be efficient and serve the project specifically.
•    Meet with different departments to evaluate the LOTO required.
•    Build a pre-LOTO plan prior to receiving a vessel at the yard.
•    Ensure a fluid workflow for LOTO requests from the project.
•    Lead the specialists on the team by example, in line with departmental priorities.
•    Work closely with the commissioning team during reactivation to ensure a maximum level of safety.
•    Work closely with the client to ensure LOTO handovers are adequate and well documented.
•    Align a strategy that will cover the yard’s LOTO-related production working hours.
•    Actively participate in project-specific LOTO meetings and ensure the status is properly tracked with the HSE team.
•    Continually promote HSE awareness by leading by example and ensuring the safe performance of all employees involved in your daily operations.
•    Resolve any HSE issues brought to their attention in a timely manner and notify the HSE team immediately.
•    Ensure the security of project facilities and equipment.
•    Ensure full compliance with Davie’s environmental policies.

REQUIREMENTS

•    Engineering or marine engineering education preferred.
•    LOTO management experience preferred.
•    Health and safety background desired.
•    Management experience, an asset.
•    Strong communication and teamwork skills.
•    Proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken. Fluency in English is required for this position, as the incumbent will interact with our English-speaking suppliers, stakeholders, and clients.
•    Successful completion of the investigation and security clearance process required by the federal government’s Contract Security Program.
