Role Overview

This role provides senior technology leadership for the design, delivery, and ongoing management of enterprise-scale data management, analytical reporting, AI-enabled solutions, and Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC) capabilities in support of our Canadian Wealth Management businesses.

The leader acts as a platform owner and trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders, ensuring platforms enable high-quality client and advisor experiences, actionable insights, and strong regulatory compliance, while meeting enterprise standards for architecture, security, governance, data privacy, and operational resilience.

The role has two primary mandates:

  • AWS cloud-native data, analytics, and AI platforms that support enterprise reporting, insight generation, and regulatory transparency, along with similar technologies in use at the Bank, including Netezza and Azure data platforms.

  • Salesforce Financial Services Cloud as the system of engagement for client, advisor, and relationship management, tightly integrated with enterprise data and analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Ownership & Technology Leadership

  • Act as platform owner across both AWS and Salesforce FSC, establishing clear standards for architecture, data models, integration, security, and operational support.

  • Lead end-to-end delivery—from strategy and architecture through build, deployment, and production support—ensuring consistent execution, transparency, and control.

  • Ensure platforms support key wealth management outcomes including client insights, advisor productivity, suitability, oversight, and regulatory reporting.

Wealth Data, Analytics & AI Enablement (AWS)

  • Deliver modern data management and analytical reporting platforms on AWS that enable trusted, timely insights for wealth business management, risk oversight, and regulatory obligations.

  • Ensure strong data foundations for client, account, product, transaction, and advisor data, including data quality, lineage, controls, and auditability.

  • Champion the use of machine learning and generative AI to enhance:

    • Client segmentation and insights

    • Predictive analytics and forecasting

    • Automation of reporting and controls

    • Decision support for advisors and leaders

  • Embed responsible AI practices, including explainability, model governance, data privacy, and risk management, aligned with regulatory expectations.

Salesforce Financial Services Cloud Enablement

  • Provide senior leadership for the delivery and evolution of Salesforce Financial Services Cloud as the core Wealth client relationship management platform, used by our client-facing and head-office operational staff across our Private Wealth, Investorline, and BMO Insurance businesses.

  • Ensure FSC supports end-to-end wealth management processes, including client onboarding, KYC, relationship hierarchies, advisor workflows, and service interactions.

  • Lead integration between Salesforce FSC and enterprise data, analytics, and AI platforms on AWS, enabling a single, consistent view of the client and advisor.

  • Champion future responsible use of AI and generative AI within Salesforce, such as intelligent automation, personalization, next-best-action, and forecasting, aligned with regulatory and ethical standards.

Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior wealth business and technology leaders, contributing to platform strategy, investment planning, and initiative prioritization.

  • Balance business value, regulatory risk, delivery timelines, and cost across a complex portfolio of initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities to modernize wealth platforms and operating models to improve client experience, advisor productivity, insight quality, and compliance outcomes.

Delivery Management & Vendor Oversight

  • Manage delivery across multiple, concurrent initiatives spanning AWS and Salesforce FSC platforms.

  • Oversee system integrators, cloud providers, and internal technology partners to ensure high-quality, cost-effective delivery aligned with enterprise and regulatory standards.

  • Ensure strong operational readiness, release management, and support models for all production platforms.

People & Culture Leadership

  • Build and lead high-performing teams across data engineering, analytics, AI, and Salesforce delivery.

  • Develop talent with strong understanding of wealth management, data, and regulatory context, alongside deep technical capability.

  • Foster a culture of delivery accountability, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in senior technology leadership roles within wealth management, financial services, or other regulated environments.

  • Deep expertise in AWS-based data, analytics, and AI platforms, including enterprise reporting and governance.

  • Strong experience delivering Salesforce platforms, with a clear preference for Financial Services Cloud in a wealth context.

  • Proven ability to integrate Salesforce with enterprise data and analytics ecosystems.

  • Strong understanding of wealth regulatory expectations, data governance, and operational risk.

  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
