This competition may be used to fill current and future vacancies for temporary and permanent Talent Acquisition Consultant positions, and/or fill future vacancies, across the Government of Alberta, at the same or lower classification level.

As a Talent Acquisition Consultant, you will:
• Deliver full‑cycle recruitment services in alignment with APS policies and directives.
• Provide consultative advice to hiring managers on recruitment strategies, workforce considerations, and process requirements.
• Prepare inclusive job advertisements, screen applications, coordinate and support interviews, conduct reference checks, and support offer processes.
• Balance multiple recruitment files while responding to shifting priorities.
• Contribute to team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives within Talent Acquisition.
• Participate in projects and initiatives that support broader PSC priorities.
Key to your success is the ability to build an understanding of your clients’ business needs and translate that insight into practical staffing solutions. You’ll rely on strong communication skills, thoughtful analysis, and problem‑solving abilities to navigate complex information and provide client‑focused advice.

A two-year diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related area, plus one year of related experience; or equivalent as stated below:
Equivalencies will be accepted on the basis of a university degree or a related one-year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and two years of related experience. Directly related education or experience will be considered on the basis of one year of education for one year of experience; or one year of experience for one year of education.
Preference will be given to applicants with 3+ years of experience in talent acquisition or human resources.
Assets include:
• Experience providing consultative support, building strong relationships, and offering strategic guidance to stakeholders.
• Unionized or public‑sector recruitment experience.
• Experience supporting inclusive and equitable hiring.

Position Terms: Temporary (various terms) with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Hours of work: 7.25 hours per day/36.25 hours per week
Successful candidates will be placed into a talent pool. Those who are being considered for a vacancy will be contacted and will progress to pre-employment checks; those who are not will be part of the talent pool for twelve months.
Any costs associated with obtaining the required documents/checks as noted or interview travel expenses, will be the responsibility of the candidate. Out-of-province applicants can obtain the required documents/checks from the province they currently reside in.
