We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about harnessing the power of data and brings to the table robust technical expertise coupled with strong communications skills.

The Senior Consultant, Data Governance will be a key member of a team of data professionals responsible for establishing and driving the successful adoption of the data governance program in Manulife’s Global WAM segment.  They will bring together their technical expertise, business knowledge and communications skills to enable deployment of Data Governance (DG) and Data Quality (DQ) in GWAM.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support the deployment of Global WAM’s data governance program, including frameworks, policies, processes, and enabling tools
  • Drive adoption of data governance through effective change management, stakeholder engagement, and clear messaging
  • Partner with business units and Chief Data Office teams to deploy and consistently apply data governance frameworks and core processes
  • Facilitate regular touchpoints with Data Governance teams to monitor progress, alignment, and consistency across business areas
  • Manage and oversee data issues and change requests, ensuring proper logging, tracking, root-cause analysis, and alignment with data strategy
  • Collaborate with the Data Quality team to integrate data quality monitoring with data issue management and perform trend analysis
  • Develop and deliver materials to support executive-level Data Council discussions and decision-making

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in a manner that drives a culture of accountability, innovation and teamwork

  • Play role of change agent across the organization

  • Utilize innovative approaches to solve business data problems

  • Demonstrate a strong service orientation

  • Take personal accountability within work duties and instill accountability with team members

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, economics, or a quantitative discipline with 5–7 years of relevant financial services or asset management experience (MBA an asset)
  • Proven experience delivering transformational initiatives requiring strong change management, communication, and training capabilities, ideally in data or information management
  • Ability to bridge business and technology teams, collaborating effectively to deliver shared outcomes
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence, challenge, and engage investment professionals and senior leadership
  • Demonstrated leadership, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the resilience to navigate complexity and obstacles
  • Strong analytical and technical aptitude, including data analysis, visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), and familiarity with data modeling and SQL (an asset)
  • Proficiency with common business and communication tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio); prior consulting experience and knowledge of asset management platforms are assets

Salary range is expected to be between

$73,725.00 CAD - $122,875.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
