We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to join the Talent Programs team within a prominent Canadian health-focused organization. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting a workforce dedicated to a life-saving mission. You will work alongside a collaborative group of HR and payroll experts who oversee recruitment, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives across the country.
As a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, your work ensures that the people behind the mission are supported and compensated accurately. You will act as a bridge between complex policy and people-centric service, managing the employee life cycle from hire to retirement within a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.
This is an exceptional opportunity to grow your expertise in both payroll and human resources within a unionized setting. You will enjoy a culture that celebrates balance through a hybrid work model and a supportive team environment where mentorship is a priority. This role offers exposure to complex collective agreements and large-scale HRIS systems, making it a perfect stepping stone for an HR professional looking to deepen their technical and analytical skills.
You’ll serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers, providing clear guidance on HR policies, benefit programs, and pay-related provisions within multiple collective agreements.
In this role, you’ll oversee the integrity of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) by accurately processing life cycle events, including new hires, leaves of absence, and internal movements.
You’ll manage pay-related changes and quota adjustments in accordance with unionized provisions and non-unionized compensation guidelines.
You’ll administer pension and benefit programs, ensuring all data aligns with plan requirements and legislated criteria.
You’ll partner with the broader People and Culture team to implement new programs, generate reports, and support labour relations activities.
3+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources and Payroll, specifically supporting an HRIS system (SAP experience is a significant asset).
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Payroll, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong technical proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, for data management and reporting.
Proven experience navigating unionized environments and interpreting complex collective agreement language.
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to explain intricate pay and benefit information to a diverse workforce.
