Reporting to the Head of Mass Market Distribution, Individual Insurance Sales, the Wholesaler – Mass Market will be accountable for handling and retaining relationships with Advisors in the Multi-level Marketing Work Model. This role combines the responsibilities of both External and Internal
Wholesalers, focusing on:
Relationship Management: Proactively develop and maintain relationships with key advisors and intermediaries, focusing on scheduling 200 in-person meetings per year, providing product training, case consultation, joint fieldwork, sales proposal design, and point-of-sale assistance as required.
Sales Support: Provide case consultation, sales, product, and marketing support to select advisors and intermediaries in the territory to drive sales of individual life and living benefit insurance at Manulife.
Communication and Presentation: Deliver presentations to small/large groups of advisors and sub-distributors, and handle incoming advisor inquiries (case consultations, illustration support, product queries, and training).
Business Development: Identify opportunities and activities to generate profitable business growth, develop and execute regular business development plans, and conduct dynamic sales meetings & seminars.
Collaboration: Work with peers and External Wholesalers to support specific regions or targeted firms, using tools & resources, data & analytics to investigate proactive sales opportunities.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education and/or applicable professional designation (i.e., CFP, CLU, CHFC, TEP)
Minimum 5 years of financial industry experience, with experience in marketing to Independent Advisors in a life insurance environment
Knowledge and expertise in personal and corporate taxation and financial planning
Strong knowledge of marketing concepts, product applications, and competitive positioning
Highly developed interpersonal, analytical, and presentation (written and oral) skills
Proficiency using various office-based software, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel
Self-motivated, superior time-management, and organizational skills
Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
Valid driver’s license and well-maintained vehicle required
The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.
