Le rôle principal consiste à fournir un soutien spécialisé en ingénierie des systèmes avioniques et en réglementation à la DTAES 6, aux gestionnaires de projets de la DTAES 3, à la DGAEPM, à la DGMPD ainsi qu’à d’autres organisations du MDN/FAC, en appui aux flottes d’aéronefs (habités et non habités) du MDN/FAC.

Responsabilités :

  • Effectuer des recherches et évaluer les modifications de conception, ainsi que mener des activités de certification de type d’aéronef;
  • Fournir une expertise en systèmes avioniques dans l’élaboration de la base de certification pour les modifications de conception et la certification de type;
  • Évaluer de nouvelles technologies et systèmes en vue de leur utilisation future sur les aéronefs du MDN/FAC;
  • Assurer la surveillance des organismes accrédités réalisant des activités techniques/de maintenance ou des constatations de conformité dans le domaine des systèmes avioniques;
  • Contribuer à l’élaboration et à la mise à jour des règles, normes et documents consultatifs du Manuel de navigabilité technique;
  • Contribuer à l’élaboration et à la mise à jour des normes et documents consultatifs du Manuel des normes de conception de navigabilité;
  • Préparer ou contribuer à la préparation de notes techniques, comptes rendus ou avis;
  • Fournir des recommandations à l’Autorité technique de navigabilité concernant le comité d’examen de navigabilité, la gestion des risques, ainsi que les règles et normes du Manuel de navigabilité technique.

Exigences obligatoires :

  • Détenir actuellement ou être admissible à une cote de sécurité de niveau Secret (niveau II) du gouvernement du Canada;
  • Détenir un baccalauréat ou une maîtrise en génie électrique et/ou électronique d’un établissement reconnu*; OU un diplôme en génie ou en sciences avec au moins cinq (5) ans d’expérience comme spécialiste avionique; OU avoir atteint le grade de capitaine ou plus dans les métiers AERE ou CELE-Air au sein des FAC avec dix (10) ans d’expérience pertinente;
  • Posséder un minimum de dix (10) ans d’expérience au cours des quinze (15) dernières années en ingénierie avionique, incluant les mises à niveau et l’intégration de systèmes avioniques dans des aéronefs militaires et/ou civils, ou la certification de systèmes avioniques;
  • Posséder au moins trois (3) ans d’expérience récente en certification de navigabilité des systèmes avioniques, incluant les modifications majeures ou la certification de nouveaux aéronefs, avec expérience en conception, base de certification, plans de certification, programmes de conformité et documentation associée, incluant les systèmes critiques de vol;
  • Démontrer des connaissances dans au moins quatre (4) des domaines suivants :

Position Overview

The primary role is to provide specialist avionics systems engineering and regulatory support to DTAES 6, DTAES 3 project managers, DGAEPM, DGMPD and other DND/CAF organizations in support of the DND/CAF aircraft fleets (manned and unmanned).

Responsibilities

  • Research and evaluate Design Changes and conduct aircraft type certification activities;
  • Provide avionic systems input in the development of the certification basis in support of Design Changes and aircraft Type Certification;
  • Evaluate new technologies and systems for future use on DND/CAF aircraft;
  • Conduct oversight of accredited organizations performing technical/maintenance activities and/or performing finding of compliance within the avionic systems specialty;
  • Provide avionic systems input in the development and upkeep of Rules, Standards and Advisory Material for the Technical Airworthiness Manual;
  • Provide avionic systems input in the development and upkeep of the Airworthiness Design Standards Manual Standards and Advisory Material;
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of Technical Notes, Minutes or Advisories; and
  • Provide recommendations to the Technical Airworthiness Authority on matters related to the Airworthiness Review Board, Risk Management, Technical Airworthiness Manual Rules and Standards, etc.

Qualifications

  • Must currently hold or be eligible for Secret (Level II) clearance with the Government of Canada.
  • Must have an undergraduate or master’s degree in electrical and/or electronic engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution. OR Must have an undergraduate or master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institutionin engineering or science, and five (5) years’ experience as an avionics specialist. OR Must have obtained the rank of Capt or above within the Aerospace Engineering Officer (AERE) or Communications and Electronics Engineering-Air (CELE-Air) trade within the CAF and ten (10) years’ experience to this related technical field.
  • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience within the past fifteen (15) years, related to aircraft avionics engineering, including experience with avionics upgrades and the integration of avionics systems in military and/or civilian type aircraft, or the certification of avionics systems.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of practical experience within the last seven (7) years in avionics systems airworthiness certification including major design changes or the certification of new aircraft, including review of design, work with basis of certification, work with certification plan, work with compliance programs and related compliance documentation. Experience must include work related to aircraft flight critical avionics systems.
  • Must provide details, including at least one (1) example, of work performed or formal education that clearly demonstrates knowledge* in four (4) of the following eight (8) areas:
