Manulife

Toronto, Ontario

Salary: $92,900.00 CAD - $142,900.00 CAD

Manulife’s Global Wealth & Asset Management (Global WAM) segment has embarked on an exciting journey that is transforming the organization by harnessing the power of data and related analytics. This transformation is a key strategic enabler and we are looking for individuals who are passionate about joining the team that will lead this journey.

This role bridges financial oversight and business usage to deliver clear visibility into market data spend. Positioned at the intersection of market data operations and financial management, the Manager serves as a trusted expert driving transparency, alignment, and accuracy in market data costs. Beyond day‑to‑day activities, the role also continuously evaluates existing processes and data to identify and deliver enhancements in operational efficiency and accuracy.

The ideal candidate is a self‑starter with intellectual curiosity, a result‑driven mindset, and a passion for driving progress and challenging the status quo.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Own market data cost allocation and chargeback processes, ensuring accurate distribution across users, cost centers, and business units.
  • Manage the end‑to‑end vendor invoice lifecycle and period‑end close activities, including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and financial adjustments.
  • Produce detailed reporting on market data spend, internal allocations, and user/license distribution, addressing both recurring and ad‑hoc analytical requests.
  • Oversee user management to ensure market data usage and charges align with provisioned access and mapped cost centers.
  • Partner with Business and Finance teams to explain charge methodologies, cost drivers, and changes in spend, while maintaining documentation and driving continuous process improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in market data operations, finance, or accounting.
  • Experience within a global financial services or capital‑markets organization, with a strong understanding of market data cost structures and licensing models preferred.
  • Proven expertise in cost allocation and chargeback processes, including hands‑on vendor invoice management, reconciliation, dispute resolution, and financial close activities.
  • Solid analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Highly organized, accountable, and collaborative professional with strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.

When you join our team:

  • We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
  • We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.
  • As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.

The role being advertised is an existing vacancy.
