We are the technical and analytical engine behind the merchandising organization. Our mission is to help make Canadian Tire the #1 product forecasting retailer, with best-in-class inventory management. We sit at the intersection of business and technology, powering the buying and merchandising process through strong financial, planning, and analytical expertise. We support and partner with cross-functional business stakeholders (Merchandise Planning, Category Business Planners, Forecasting, Replenishment, Digital, Promotions, IT) through best-in-class analytics, planning tools, and data-driven insights that inform key decisions. The work is fundamentally about enabling better merchandising decisions and improving forecast accuracy using deep technical skills. You will lead complex planning initiatives, translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, and help evolve how Integrated Planning operates across the organization.

 In this role, you will:

  • Lead the end‑to‑end design, build, and deployment of complex solutions using Agile methodologies, ensuring alignment with Integrated Planning strategy, data architecture, and business requirements.
  • Design, develop, and enhance Anaplan models, dashboards, and reports supporting planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Provide functional and technical leadership with strong data governance, mentoring, and enabling teams and stakeholders through process transformation, grounded in deep technical expertise and strong knowledge of merchandising and financial planning.
  • Own data management and integrations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability across Anaplan, Azure, Databricks, and upstream/downstream systems.
  • Query, transform, and analyze data from enterprise data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure, Snowflake) to support deep‑dive analysis and decision‑making.
  • Design and deliver intuitive dashboards and insights using Power BI and ThoughtSpot, translating complex data into clear, decision‑ready insights.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy, planning effectiveness, and decision quality using data-backed insights.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex model, data, and integration issues, applying a problem-solving and continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Contribute to enterprise strategic initiatives impacting Integrated Planning processes, platforms, and data architecture.

 What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Science, Business, or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing complex solutions, combined with professional experience in analytics or data-centric roles, including leading multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of financial and merchandise planning processes, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance management.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, Anaplan, and MS Access.
  • Experience with analytics and visualization platforms such as Power BI and ThoughtSpot.
  • Experience working with cloud‑based data platforms and analytics stacks (e.g., Databricks, Azure, Snowflake), including data integration, ETL processes, and API‑based solutions.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize insights and communicate recommendations clearly.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical and analytical specifications.
  • Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work, manage dependencies, and deliver high‑quality outcomes across multiple initiatives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including workshop facilitation and executive‑ready presentations.
  • Anaplan Certified Model Builder and Anaplan Certified Solution Architect are strongly preferred.
