What you will be doing…

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payroll, Benefits & HRIS, you are a key member of the Human Resources team as well as the liaison with Digital Innovation & Technical and other functional areas of the College which share data through the College's ERP system (namely Finance and Student). The HRIS Functional Lead:

  • Provides leadership and overall management of short and long-term goals in the functional areas of the PeopleSoft system and other related information systems that support or are supported by Human Resources/Payroll.
  • Defines business requirements, and develops and implements technology plans to support programs, initiatives, and the service delivery model within Human Resources
  • Provides project management or support for HR departmental initiatives as well as initiatives initiated outside of HR but require HR functional expertise.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a relevant college diploma, or university degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Management, or a related discipline.
  • You have a minimum of seven (7) years of recent and related occupational experience working with finance, student or human resources ERP applications, preferably PeopleSoft, in a multi-departmental business environment. Experience includes any combination of the following:
    • 2 or more years' experience in the management of staff in any combination of project execution, operations or a development environment
    • 2 or more years' experience with human resources/payroll ERP applications, preferably PeopleSoft. This may be in some combination of management, provision of client functional support and/or hands-on experience
  • Experience working in a post-secondary environment would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated leadership in teambuilding.
  • Ability to manage support staff by:
    • assigning and prioritizing tasks
    • supervising, training and evaluating the work of others
    • establishing and implementing standards for excellent customer service
  • Proficiency using the full MS Office suite. with particularly high-level expertise in Excel.
  • Demonstration experience in project management and defining business requirements is an asset.
  • Experience in an HR and payroll environment and associated business practices.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with multiple reporting tools and data platforms (i.e. Excel, Cognos, Access, SQL, etc.).
