Intergovernmental Relations plays a critical role in advancing Alberta’s interests by monitoring, analyzing, and shaping engagement on intergovernmental issues across Canada—supporting informed decision making at the highest levels.

Role Responsibilities

Are you passionate about using technology and AI to make work smarter, faster, and more impactful? This role offers a unique opportunity to apply modern AI tools, automation, and data-driven thinking to support Alberta’s intergovernmental priorities at the highest levels of government.

The Information & Process Improvement Analyst plays a key role in strengthening how information is organized, analyzed, and delivered—directly supporting senior leadership in briefing the Premier and advancing Alberta’s interests across Canada.

In this role, you will focus on improving how information and processes support strategic decision-making. Your work will have a direct impact on how intergovernmental issues are monitored, analyzed, and communicated.

You will:

  • Design and deploy AI-powered tools and automation to reduce repetitive work, including media monitoring, reporting, and information tracking
  • Improve digital file structures and information systems so they are intuitive for staff and optimized for AI-enabled analysis
  • Analyze political and policy developments across Canada to support intergovernmental strategy and briefing materials
  • Collaborate closely with branch staff, leadership, and partners to understand needs and translate them into practical solutions
  • Document processes and train colleagues on new tools and workflows to build long-term capacity across the branch
  • Manage multiple improvement initiatives simultaneously, balancing timelines, priorities, and evolving business needs

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience organizing digital information systems or knowledge repositories.
  • Proficiency with Python
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, Zapier, OneDrive, Copilot, and Planner.
  • Experience working with modern AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience documenting procedures and training others.

Notes

Hours of Work: 8:15am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday. 36.25/week.

Location: Commerce Place, Downtown Edmonton, Alberta.
