We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Farm Hand - Livestock Care to join our team in Feversham.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Farm Hand - Livestock Care is responsible for the daily care, health, and well-being of farm animals, including cattle, pigs, and sheep. This role focuses on feeding, monitoring animal health, maintaining clean and safe living environments, and supporting ethical, sustainable livestock practices.

 

This is a year-round position requiring strong attention to detail, compassion for animals, and a commitment to producing organic, healthy, high-quality food through responsible farming practices.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Barn & Facility Maintenance

  • Clean and maintain barns, pens, bedding, and feeding areas.
  • Ensure proper ventilation, sanitation, and biosecurity practices are followed.
  • Maintain fencing, gates, and livestock handling equipment.

 

Health & Record Keeping

  • Assist with basic health checks, treatments, and vaccinations under direction.
  • Maintain accurate records related to feeding, health, and animal movement.
  • Support compliance with animal welfare standards and regulations.

 

Equipment & Farm Support

  • Operate farm equipment and help put crops into storage for feed. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education & Experience

  • 10 years of experience working with livestock.
  • Strong understanding of animal behaviour, health, and welfare practices.
  • Experience operating farm equipment is an asset.
  • Valid Class G licence required.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Highly motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Genuine care and respect for animals and ethical farming practices.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable agriculture and food production.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to animal needs quickly.
  • Physically capable of handling livestock and working in farm environments.

 

 

PAY RATE: $25-28/hr to start
