About the Opportunity
Our client, a global organization within the enterprise technology space, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support critical infrastructure during a temporary coverage period. This is a hands-on role focused on designing, managing, and optimizing hybrid IT environments across multiple regions.
You will join a small, collaborative team of engineers and act as a key escalation point for infrastructure challenges. Working closely with regional IT teams and global stakeholders, you will help ensure systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with evolving business needs in a distributed environment.

Your Responsibilities- You will design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure across hybrid environments, including cloud and on-prem systems.
- You will standardize systems across regions to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
- You will act as an escalation point for critical issues and collaborate with global IT teams across multiple time zones.
- You will monitor system performance and implement optimization, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
- You will lead infrastructure projects, manage vendor relationships, and drive adoption of best practices.
- You will ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards while maintaining detailed technical documentation.
Skills and Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, including experience supporting multi-region environments
- Strong expertise in Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
- Advanced experience with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing
- Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell or Python
- Knowledge of IT governance frameworks such as ITIL, ISO 27001, or NIST
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across distributed teams
Preferred Skills
- Professional certifications (e.g., CSEP, MCSE, VMware, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, ITIL).
