Overview:
Supporting the Emerging Businesses team with the development and execution of loyalty and emerging growth strategies, you will play a key role in early solutioning and program delivery for new strategic initiatives. This role has broad strategy and delivery responsibilities spanning across Canadian Personal & Business Banking, requiring effective interaction with marketing, product, risk, loyalty, and finance. You are a dynamic, proactive, and innovative thought leader with a desire to expand your strategic thinking. Drawing from a foundational understanding of key payment trends and financial and strategic acumen, you will be supporting the strategy and delivery of emerging initiatives for BMO.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Initiatives
Lead cross functional teams to execute strategic initiatives ensuring alignment with business and financial goals.
Work with internal and external stakeholders across business, loyalty, analytics, risk, digital, and more to operationalize roadmap initiatives.
Break down strategic problems and analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations on key success metrics, trends, and recommend project remediation as needed.
Insights and Analytics
Identify emerging activities and historical trends to inform data-driven decision making and strategic recommendations.
Leverage financial acumen to develop fact-based and compelling business cases.
Establish strategic priorities, identify resources required, and develop delivery roadmaps that achieve business objectives.
Emerging Topics and Innovation
Conduct comprehensive market analysis and competitive research to identify disruptive trends and technologies with opportunities for growth and differentiation.
Develop competitive benchmarking for these technologies, identify gaps and recommend solutions.
Recommend and work with key product stakeholders to develop and implement prioritized use cases.
Qualifications
Experience and Knowledge
2+ years of management consulting experience desired, preferably with experience in banking or payments.
5+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong external focus with ability to synthesize market trends and keep pace in highly changing payments business.
Communication Skills
Exceptional collaboration and communications skills – both written and verbal.
Ability to distill complex data into simple, compelling insights.
Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions.
Mindset
Curious, proactive, and results-driven.
Strong problem-solving skills, works independently, and regularly handles non-routine situations.
Comfortable with ambiguity and able to pivot across multiple initiatives.
