The Ministry of Children and Family Services funds programs and services to support vulnerable children, youth, families, and individuals to live safely and succeed in Alberta. This includes providing services and resources to protect children and youth from abuse and neglect, and effectively address harm that has placed them in need of intervention. Mentoring and support services are available to youth transitioning into healthy, productive adults.
The ministry also invests in community-based groups that support prevention and early intervention services such as Family Resource Networks, youth emergency shelters as well as programs that raise awareness and help respond to family violence, sexual violence, and abuse.

The Prevention Family Violence & Abuse Branch works towards an Alberta that is free from family violence, sexual violence and abuse through a coordinated provincial response with a focus on prevention and strengthening comprehensive and community-based services, supports and programs.
Reporting to the Manager, Family Violence Integrated Strategy in the Prevention of Family Violence and Abuse Branch, the Senior Policy Analyst takes a lead role, with minimal supervision, in carrying out complex policy and program development and analysis projects.
Key Responsibilities:
The position requires a combination of extensive theoretical knowledge and expertise to lead the planning, research, analysis, and reporting needed to develop and implement government policies. This role supports the analysis of grant funding for service delivery and provides expert advice to the branch and division in policy and program creation, evaluation and implementation.
