Why this role matters
We’re looking for an Observability Specialist who is deeply curious about systems, obsessed with signals, and motivated by turning data into decisive action. This role goes beyond dashboards and alerts—you’ll shape how teams understand system behavior, diagnose complexity, and proactively improve reliability and performance. If you love asking “why did this happen?”, “what’s signals we’re missing?”, and “how do we make this easier for everyone tomorrow?”—this role is for you.
What you’ll do
Participate in leading observability as a capability
Design, evolve, and champion end-to-end observability across distributed, cloud-native platforms
Act as a thought partner to engineering, platform, and SRE teams—not just a tool admin
Go deep on analytics & insight
Use telemetry data to explain system behavior, not just report it
Build advanced analytical views that surface anomalies, trends, and causal relationships
Translate noisy operational data into clear, actionable narratives for technical and non-technical audiences
Partner with data and analytics teams to apply statistical thinking and automation to observability problems
Drive continuous improvement
Proactively identify observability gaps before incidents occur
Improve MTTR, reduce alert fatigue, and influence reliability outcomes
Contribute to runbooks, golden signals, and operational best practices
What makes you a great fit
Mindset
Curious by default – you enjoy digging until the system truly makes sense
Highly engaged – you take ownership and follow problems through to resolution
Impact-driven – you care about outcomes, not just implementation
Technical strengths
Strong hands-on experience with Dynatrace or similar Observability tool (this is essential)
Deep understanding of observability concepts:
Metrics, logs, traces, events
SLI/SLO design and alerting strategies
Proven ability to use analytics to interpret complex system behavior
Experience with:
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Microservices, containers, Kubernetes
CI/CD and modern DevOps practices
Bonus points if you have
Experience applying data science or statistical techniques to operational data
SRE background or strong production engineering experience
Exposure to OpenTelemetry and standards-based instrumentation
A habit of writing, teaching, or presenting technical ideas clearly
Note: This role requires 2/3 days in the office.
