The Financial Administrator carries out a variety of financial activities (e.g. processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, service billing). Supporting the Manager, Contract Financials, the incumbent records project and contract budgets and expenditures, processes payments, prepares financial reports, and assists with year-end activities.
KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES
Primary:
• Process daily payment batches, investigate rejected claims and resolve issues to ensure successful transmission to Client-Partner
• Maintain the enterprise resource planning (ERP) commitment management module
• Enter accounts payable data and audit vendor invoices
• Maintain project budgets and transfer of funds
• Participate in corporate initiatives, as required
• Respond to inquiries about financial processes (eg. Accounts payable, billing, invoices, project budgets)
• Monitor and troubleshoot service issues within assigned areas of responsibility
• Assist with year-end activities
• Act as backup to other financial administrators
• Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations
• Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC and Client-Partners
Other:
• Provide administrative support to other Finance teams
• Other duties as assigned
SKILLS
General and Specific Knowledge:
• Finance and accounting principles
• Experience using an ERP system, in particular knowledge of Enterprise One and/or SAP is an asset
Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experience:
• Minimum: College diploma in accounting or related field with four years relevant experience
Abilities:
• Use applicable computer software
• Perform repetitive data entry with precision
• Adhere to strict deadlines
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with a focus on quality and accuracy
• Positive, proactive approach to enhancing accounts payable methods and company practices and ability to adapt to change effectively
