About the Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to step into a senior HR leadership role supporting a large, dynamic employee group with a diverse workforce. In this role, you’ll work closely with leaders across the organization to create a culture of engagement, inclusion, and high performance. You’ll be responsible for driving HR initiatives, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring that day-to-day HR operations run smoothly, all while supporting a team of HR professionals.

The role offers exposure to complex organizational environments, including unionized and non-unionized employees, and the chance to contribute to meaningful change. You’ll collaborate with a central HR team on initiatives that improve processes, enhance employee experience, and support long-term organizational goals. This is a people-centric position where your expertise directly impacts leaders, employees, and the overall effectiveness of the faculty.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll lead the HR function for the faculty, supporting both academic and non-academic employees, including unionized teams.

  • You’ll act as a trusted advisor to managers, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and compliance.

  • You’ll oversee recruitment, organizational design, and succession planning, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

  • You’ll coach leaders on HR best practices, change management, and team effectiveness to foster engagement and high performance.

  • You’ll contribute to HR projects and initiatives that improve processes, implement innovative solutions, and enhance the employee experience.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership experience in a complex, unionized environment.

  • Strong generalist HR knowledge, including compensation, organizational development, performance management, and employee relations.

  • Experience managing change and driving HR initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and coach leaders.

  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in both fast-paced and complex environments.
