Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.

About the role

We are looking for Registered Nurses to provide primary health care services to youth participating in Cadet Training Centre programs across various locations in Canada. These positions run from mid-June to mid-August and offer a unique opportunity to support young cadets during an intensive and rewarding summer training experience.

Responsibilities

  • As part of the clinical team, you will work in a collaborative, well-supported clinic environment alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and licensed practical nurses. Your responsibilities will include conducting medical intake assessments for arriving cadets, monitoring those with ongoing or chronic health conditions, and responding to urgent or emerging health concerns. This may involve wound care, allergy or flu treatment, mental health support, health education, and more. The role is hands-on, dynamic, and focused on promoting safe participation and overall wellness throughout the cadets’ stay.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Nova Scotia
  • CPR certification, or willingness to obtain CPR certification
  • Security clearance (we will support you through the process)

Employment Type:

  • Short-term contract
  • Camp dates: June 29, 2026 – August 21, 2026
  • Orientation: June 5, 2026
  • Scheduling is flexible and based on your availability. Part-time schedules are available!
  • Shifts up to a maximum of 8 hours per day, not exceeding 40 hours per week.

Additional Information:

  • You may work as little as 1 day per week or as many as 7, we build schedules around the availability of our nursing team.

Compensation

$41-46/hr
