Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Hybrid (3 days on-site)

Language: English, strong written and verbal communication required

Duration: 1 year contract with potential to extend

Background Check Requirement: Eligible for Canadian Secret Security Clearance and ITAR compliance

Our client, a global leader in engineering and asset management within the defence and aviation sectors, is seeking an HR Coordinator to support a dynamic and high-impact team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with HR, payroll, and business stakeholders to deliver seamless employee lifecycle support. From onboarding to reporting and process improvement, your work will directly impact employee experience and operational efficiency across the organization.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll support the full employee lifecycle by processing new hires, employment changes, and maintaining accurate HRIS records
  • You’ll coordinate onboarding activities, partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth and engaging new hire experience
  • You’ll manage and respond to employee inquiries, ensuring timely and professional communication
  • You’ll track contracts, acting assignments, and key HR deadlines to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • You’ll collaborate with payroll on timesheets, benefits, and compensation changes
  • You’ll prepare HR reports and documentation, including employment letters, contracts, and workforce metrics
  • You’ll contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting HR processes, policies, and workflow enhancements

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in an HR support or coordination role
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS systems and high-volume data entry
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Experience supporting leaves or payroll processes is considered an asset
