Position Overview

We are looking for a Junior Corporate Accountant to support corporate-wide financial reporting and equity management activities within a collaborative and high-performing finance team. This role plays a meaningful part in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting while providing exposure to public company requirements, IFRS reporting, and consolidated financial statements. The Junior Corporate Accountant works closely with internal finance partners and external auditors and handles some tasks for the Manager of Financial Reporting, offering strong opportunities for professional growth and expanded responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, including consolidation working papers and supporting disclosures.
  • Assist with the consolidation of subsidiaries, including intercompany eliminations.
  • Manage equity plan administration, including monthly reconciliations and employee share purchase plan issuances.
  • Plan and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual audit deliverables.
  • Coordinate quarterly reviews and year-end audits with external auditors and internal finance teams.
  • Assess newly issued IFRS standards and evaluate impacts to the organization.
  • Prepare internal financial statements, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
  • Oversee international subsidiary reporting and review local GAAP to IFRS adjustments.
  • Support research related to tax changes and public company reporting requirements.
  • Calculate and report bank covenants to financial institutions.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, internal controls, and ethical business practices.
  • Other duties as required within the context of the role.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
  • SAP or ERP system experience is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail.

Additional Requirements

  • Standard office work environment.
  • Hybrid work arrangement.
  • 37.5-hour work week.
  • Overtime is not eligible for this position.
  • Reliability Status security clearance required.
  • Work in compliance with applicable health and safety laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Compensation

$60,000 to $70,000
