VCA Canada Animal Hospitals is excited to welcome a Regional Operations Director to our team. Reporting to the Regional Vice President, Eastern Canada, this individual will provide leadership and operational oversight for fourteen veterinary hospitals across the region, including three locations along the 401 corridor between Kingston, Belleville, and Oshawa. The role will work closely with hospital teams, clients, VCA office support staff, and suppliers to ensure operational excellence, high-quality patient care, and a collaborative work environment.
Serving as a vital link between field leaders, their teams and senior leadership, the Regional Operations Director will work closely with Hospital Managers, Medical Directors, and VCA leadership to advance key priorities, including operational excellence, deliver a best-in-class client and patient experience and support the growth of the business across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Support business growth and hospital performance, fostering positive revenue results, excellent client and patient experiences, and compassionate heart-centred care.
Provide leadership and operational oversight for multiple veterinary hospitals within the region.
Partner with Hospital Managers and Medical Directors to support hospital performance,
associate engagement, and medical excellence.
Support the development and retention of hospital leadership and associate teams.
Oversee and guide strategic initiatives, workforce planning, and operational improvements.
Monitor key performance indicators and support hospitals in achieving financial and
operational goals.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and trust across hospital teams.
Qualifications:
Business Degree from a recognized institute or related work experience
Minimum of 6 years in an operations management role, preferably with a multi-site overview
Knowledge within the veterinary industry preferred; processes, standards and benchmarks

Travel:
Expectation of approximately 25% for out-of-town hospital visits.
The remaining time is spent rotating at local hospitals, as this is an on-site role with no work-from-home component
