Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a Business Analyst with knowledge of business management concepts and data management practices. In this role, you will apply skills in data analysis and reporting, communications, and problem solving in a fast-paced, professional environment and be a key point of contact with numerous stakeholders, internal and external to the Environmental Services Business Operating Unit.

Your Key Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting the BOU leadership team, specifically the ES growth team and sector leaders, assisting with financial management in developing, updating and tracking costs and outcomes, and producing reports, as well as maintaining associated systems and tools, including:

  • Analyze data and provide feedback on trends and outcomes to the business

  • Interpret growth program data for continuous improvement

  • Assist in the preparation of performance reports on a portfolio of projects which include variance reports

  • Perform and/or QC ad hoc reporting as requested by the growth leaders for key sectors and/or key accounts.

  • Support preparation of internal dashboards utilizing Power BI.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing financial data, budget development and reporting

  • Experience with business analysis including forecasting, and report production.

  • Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.

  • Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet budget and schedule.

  • Ability to participate and collaborate in a team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.

  • Expertise in using Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat, with an emphasis on advanced Excel experience, including pivot tables, formula creation and formula refining

  • Expertise in Power BI with an emphasis on bringing together large data sets and producing easy to consume reports/dashboards for senior leaders.

  • Experience working in a Global, virtual, collaborative environment. This role will work with our team throughout North America as well as in Pune India.

  • Experience working with collaborative platforms such as SharePoint is desired

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field

Knowledge related to business management concepts and data management practices

Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial/business analysis

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
