About the Opportunity
Our client, a respected healthcare organization/hospital, is seeking an experienced Medical Administrative Assistant to support a surgical unit within an outpatient clinical setting. In this role, you will play a key part in coordinating patient care, managing clinic schedules, and supporting a busy surgeon while ensuring the administrative side of the practice runs smoothly.
You will work closely with a dedicated clinical team while also operating independently in a fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to patient experience by helping ensure appointments, referrals, and surgical bookings are organized efficiently and handled with care.

Your Responsibilities
You’ll manage clinic schedules and patient appointments using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
In this role, you’ll coordinate referrals, patient intake, and clinic communications to support smooth daily operations.
You’ll assist with surgical and diagnostic bookings, including coordinating operating room schedules when required.
You’ll welcome and check in patients, providing clear instructions and administrative support throughout their visit.
You’ll maintain accurate records, correspondence, and documentation while supporting the surgeon and broader clinical team.
You’ll take initiative to manage administrative priorities independently while collaborating with nearby hospital teams when needed.
Skills and Qualifications
3+ years of experience in a Medical Administrative Assistant or Medical Secretary role
Hands-on experience using EPIC EMR, including clinic scheduling and referral management
Experience supporting surgeons or working within a surgical or acute care hospital setting is preferred
Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with patients and clinical teams
High attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
