The Production Supervisor (Afternoon Shift) is a shift-based, front-line operations people leader who efficiently improves Quality, Safety, and Productivity while engaging and developing talent.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for delivering operational targets and leading teams of Production Associates.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for building an effective team on their shift and area of responsibility. The position is based out of our state-of-the-art facility in Acheson, Alberta reporting to the Production Manager.
Associate Safety & Engagement
Drive accountability in safety, quality, food safety, and team engagement.
Manage associate relations issues and drive an environment of high associate engagement on the team.
Food Safety & Quality
Ensure the ongoing production of food-safe and defect-free products consistent with our high-quality standards.
Champion quality goals and improvements at the Area Shift level, with HACCP proficiency required.
Recruiting, Onboarding & Development
Develop associates by mentoring and supporting their development plans.
Coach operators to build their functional and leadership capabilities.
Partner with Talent Acquisition to recruit and select associates for operations roles.
Guide and direct operations associates' hiring, onboarding, training, retraining, development, and motivation following self-managed, team-working principles.
Manage Performance
Manage the efforts of operating teams on a multi-line, area, or technology on one shift to efficiently convert materials into quality products in a safe, secure, and sanitary manner within product design specifications.
Coordinate materials, staffing, and resources to support line operations and changeovers.
Establish line and individual performance standards and goals with guidance from the Production Manager and support from the Continuous Improvement team.
Measure, control, take corrective action, and report results as appropriate
Bachelor’s degree in one of the Engineering, basic sciences, or business-related disciplines or relevant experience along with a High School Diploma.
Demonstrated capability in people leadership
Practical understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP concepts, plant sanitation practices, and procedures
Strong written and oral communication
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, and other software applications
Ability to successful complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol and Fit-to-Work test up to 50 lbs
Ability to clear a Criminal Record Check
Afternoon Shift: Monday – Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30PM)
Must be available to work a combination of days, evenings, nights, and weekends
Job duties require physical exertion, including the ability to manually lift to 25kg while using established safe lift procedures
