As a Health Care Security Guard, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift.

Site Information

  • The individual must be comfortable working outdoors independently and approaching individuals calmly and professionally, as the vestibule area remains very active due to the nearby drop-in center.

 

Responsibilities for Health Care Security Guard

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, clients, and visitors at the community office
  • Monitor access points and ensure only authorized individuals enter the facility
  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify and address potential safety concerns
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies following established protocols
  • Provide respectful, culturally sensitive interaction with Indigenous clients and visitors, recognizing and honoring community values and traditions
  • Assist with conflict de-escalation and mediate situations when required
  • Work collaboratively with community staff to support programming and events while maintaining security procedures

Qualifications for Health Care Security Guard

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Valid Manitoba Security Guard License
  • First Aid Training is an asset or willing to get
  • Use of Force Training is an asset or willing to get
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
  • Comfortable working independently and outdoors
  • Demonstrated professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
