You are responsible for shaping how the City of Ottawa communicates and engages with Council, the media, and Ottawa residents. You deliver critical information on priorities, programs, services and issues that are paramount to citizen participation and quality of life. You are accountable for the Service’s strategic plan, for providing vision and leadership to the Service, and for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, evaluating and improving the development and delivery of its priorities, services, programs and operations, including:
You are also accountable for the effective management of the Service’s human and financial resources, as well as the standing offer list for communications services.
Completion of 4 year university degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or other related field
Masters Degree is preferred
Minimum of 10 years of related experience in strategic communications and media relations, including a minimum of 5 years managing human resources, external contract resources, operating and capital budgets in a complex public organization or private sector corporation
