As Technical Officer, Industrialization, you will help carry out modernization plans for the shipyard, from project execution to supporting the selection and installation of various components. More specifically, you will:

  • Coordinate the implementation phases of shipyard modernization projects, which encompass multiple improvement initiatives for the Operations and Production Departments.
  • Identify and support internal and external stakeholders by ensuring they have the resources, information, and guidance needed to carry out project activities.
  • Prepare and coordinate project documentation and organize meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Research, analyze, and consolidate information on equipment from various suppliers to support decision-making.
  • Recommend equipment and installation options that uphold safety standards, ergonomics, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure employees receive clear work instructions and appropriate training to operate equipment and materials safely and competently.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to verify that installations and equipment meet required specifications.
  • Work closely with project managers and functional departments to keep project documentation and reporting up to date.
  • Coordinate and participate in meetings to support effective decision-making when challenges arise.
  • Provide regular data and reports outlining required actions, decisions, and deliverables to ensure the project remains on schedule.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in Industrial Engineering an/or Electrical Engineering Technology: Automation and Controls.

    OR undergraduate degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or an equivalent field

  • Experience in construction or improvement projects within an industrial environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken), required for regular communication with English-speaking clients.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at once.
  • Independent, creative, and resourceful.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in developing and executing action plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Successfully complete the investigation and security clearance process required by the federal government’s Contract Security Program.
