As Senior Advisor, Operational Excellence, you will be responsible for advising, supporting, proposing, and managing performance improvement and enhancement projects. You will support managers from various departments and services within the organization in identifying performance gaps, establishing action plans, and implementing activity monitoring procedures activities and performance indicators. Constantly seeking improvement, you will propose improvement opportunities supported by Lean concepts and tools. As a true continuous improvement and change management ninja, you will contribute to the project of deploying the Lean culture throughout the organization. More specifically, you will:

  • Participate in developing the strategy for deploying the Lean culture and play a key role in this cultural shift.
  • Implement the cultural deployment activities assigned to you.
  • Manage the improvement project cycle process, lead its implementation, and advise requesters and leaders in the roles.
  • Ensure the maintenance of standards for continuous improvement processes and tools.
  • Contribute to Davie’s priorities by supporting process reviews required for major organizational projects.
  • Support and advise managers and teams in managing and completing improvement projects.
  • Support Green Belt agents in carrying out improvement projects.
  • Perform, when required, an organizational diagnosis to identify improvement opportunities supported by Lean concepts and tools.
  • Prepare and lead Kaizen-type workshops, and act as a facilitator in the search for innovative solutions.
  • Assist managers in implementing innovative solutions and managing change.
  • Proactively seek and monitor opportunities to increase adherence to Lean and continuous improvement culture.
  • Monitor best practices in continuous improvement.
  • Identify training needs in Lean management and provide such training (White Belt and Yellow Belt certifications).
  • Support supervisors in Lean management.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as required for naval programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hold a university degree in a related field (engineering, administration, quality assurance, etc.).
  • Have at least ten (10) years of experience in continuous improvement.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems is considered an asset.
  • Hold a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Have relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrate rigour and exemplary behaviour.
  • Have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all clients and co-workers.
  • Value teamwork.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Bilingual (French and English). Proficiency in English is required for this position, as the incumbent will be required to interact with our English-speaking clients, partners, and suppliers;
  • Successfull completion of the investigation and security clearance process required by the federal government’s Contract Security Program.
